Terms of Service
DRAFT — Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
1. The service
This portal is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL ENTITY] ("VetOS", "we", "us") on behalf of [CLINIC NAME] ("the practice"). It lets you create an account, keep your contact and pet details up to date, request appointments with the practice, view your booking history, and exchange messages and notifications with the practice. The portal is an online booking and communication tool only — it does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not monitored for urgent requests.
2. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a password you choose. You are responsible for:
- keeping your password and the email account registered to your portal account secure;
- keeping your contact details accurate and up to date so the practice can reach you;
- everything done through the portal while signed in with your credentials.
Tell the practice promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to your email or phone, so your account can be protected.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- provide false or misleading information, or impersonate another person;
- make bookings you do not intend to keep, or otherwise interfere with the practice's schedule;
- send abusive, threatening, or unlawful content through portal messaging;
- attempt to access another client's data, probe, or disrupt the service;
- use the portal for any purpose other than managing your own pets' care with the practice.
We or the practice may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
4. Bookings
A booking made through the portal is a request only and is not confirmed until the practice accepts it. The practice may decline, reschedule, or cancel a requested appointment at its discretion, and its own cancellation, attendance, and fee policies apply to all appointments. Times shown in the portal are indicative until the practice confirms them.
5. Liability
The portal is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, [OPERATOR LEGAL ENTITY] is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the portal, including loss caused by service interruptions, delayed or undelivered emails or SMS messages, or scheduling errors. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of [JURISDICTION]. All veterinary care is provided by the practice under its own terms of engagement — VetOS is not responsible for the care your pet receives.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the service changes. The current version is always available at this page, with its effective date shown above. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice through the portal or by email. Continuing to use the portal after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to [CONTACT EMAIL]. Questions about appointments or your pet's care should go to [CLINIC NAME] directly.
